Welcome/Croeso

For the past seven years, Julian and Alison Stedman have welcomed guests to their home, a five-star, gold award, licensed bed and breakfast in the small market town of Crickhowell, set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

We have enjoyed meeting visitors from all over the world and have made many good friendships, several guests returning time after time.

From April 2017, we began to spend more time pursuing our own activities in retirement. However, we will be able to take guests during many periods of 2018. Please ring us on 01873 812512 or contact us by e-mail: reservations@crickhowellbandb.co.uk to ascertain availability.

Glan y Dwr is a gracious stone-built property, much of which was constructed in 1840, but which incorporates a cottage dating from an earlier period. There is an elegant Living Room and Conservatory for the use of guests. A generous breakfast, with much local produce is served in the adjoining panelled Dining Room. The enclosed garden is delightful on sunny afternoons.

We have three spacious guest bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and each has lovely views over the surrounding hills. Two have double beds (5ft.) and one is twin-bedded. For those staying more than one night, we can make the twin room up as a king-size double and we can provide an additional folding bed for children sharing our larger rooms. All bedrooms have a hospitality tray, complimentary toiletries, TV/DVD and hairdryer.

We are located at the bottom of Llanbedr Road, on the corner with the A40 Brecon Road. We have ample free car parking in the driveway at the entrance to the house. There are good eating places within 5 minutes' walk of Glan y Dwr and a range of small independently-run shops. We welcome walkers and cyclists to stay with us and enjoy the superb countryside and heritage of the National Park. Many walks can be taken directly from the house, ranging from challenging mountain hikes to gentle strolls alongside a picturesque canal. You could stay here for several days without needing to use your car.

Our rates in 2018 are £90 per room per night, including full Welsh breakfast, with a reduction of £30 for single occupancy. We charge an additional £15 for a child bed in a room. Babies under 2 can use a travel cot free of charge. We welcome longer stays and provide a 10% discount on our rates for 3 consecutive nights or more. We do not accept bookings for one night at weekends at any time of the year.

A £25 deposit is payable when booking one night's accommodation, and £50 for more than one night. We can inform you of our cancellation policy before you book.  Payments are accepted in cash, by cheque or BACS. We do not accept credit or debit cards.
